    Filipinos, Whats The Story?

Im hoping some of you know the deal with the election stuff. If you clear through all the B.S., it seems that everyone wants the fight to be in May except Pac because he has the political stuff. However, some are now saying that no one will run against him and that could allow him to fight Floyd in May. What do you know about the guy who is running against him? Will he run or not? Is tomorrow the deadline to announce if youre running or not? Everyone in the Philipines should tell him to back out so the fight can happend in May

Pac is against the ruling family of the province (owns a shipping line and other large businesses) who belongs under the President's party. Pac is running under his own party, not a major political party nationally. Pac may be rich, but he's enemy is not poor either. They can shell out cash as much as Pac could. Politics in the Philippines is dirty, there's no such thing as an easy election.

Sure he can endorse candidates and lead those candidates to win, but when it comes to him running, people tend not to vote for him.

They would rather see him fight, and stay away from politics.

But then again, it's his own choice..there's nothing we can about it.

As much as I like Pacquiao to concentrate on boxing--he's like anybody else. To ask him not to do other things in life--acting, politics, singing, you're asking him not to live his own life. He's doing his thing. Even if he doesn't get elected--people should respect him wanting to be a politician and helping his people out. He's trying to get the most out of life. Major respect to Packy.

pacquiaos desire for a political seat is also for the protection of his wealth, without the political power he will be like sitting duck or should i say milking cash cow by the politicians. if he can win, he will be at par with those political hyenas that they will not touch him.

I dont know about trying to go into politics while you're still an active boxer, You can do two things at the sametime, He need to either concentrate fully on politics or his boxing.

People who come and watch him fight, people who eagerly listen to radio broadcast of Pacquiao fights in the Philippines (too poor to own TV, goes to their neighbor with radios) will do everything they can to keep Manny off the dirty world of politics.

Politics here in the Philippines knows no friends nor family. Politicians here kill their own friend/family just to keep themselves in power, not all but some...well, majority is safe to say.

It's sad to say but Manny's fame seem to attract every kind of opportunists around him to have leverage. ( politicians, TV stations, businesses, NGO's, etc.)

Manny is serious to run... nobody can stop him from doing so like the last time, majority of the Filipinos hate this, but it is his right to run for office and is non of our business.

He won't still win. I just hope he won't win so that he could focus on boxing. But it all depends on the people of Sarangani. If they choose Manny what can we do..
