So Cotto became a draw because he got the **** beat out of him on PPV?

Trying to understand how he wasn't a big enough draw before, but now that Pac got 1.2 Mill with Cotto, he was at that point?

Certain people where saying pre Pac/Cotto that Cotto wasn't a draw. That he did "average" ppv numbers and that was the reason Super Duper Mega Stars like Floyd Mayweather Jr wasn't going to waste time with him. Floyd DID infact tell the television viewing audience on many occasions that he would fight Cotto as soon as he "stepped his PPV game up". But now, according to the Mayweather camp and fans, the majority of the success of Firepower was "obviously" due to Cotto's drawing power.

At what point did Cotto become this overnight draw? In his biggest PPV fight, he was mutilated and forced to bow out. PRIOR to that fight, he was a "nobody" so the Mosley and Judah fights where meaningless "business" wise.

But now he is draw? If that was the case, why did Floyd choose to fight JMM over this PPV sensation known as Miguel Cotto when it is obvious that Floyd would have garnered many more PPVS with Cotto?

The matchup was good. Good matchups on PPV between two fighters with sizable ethnic followings are usually a success.

I think Cotto in the right situation is a draw on PPV. He brings something to the table despite what anyone has said. He is a decent draw. Maragarito fought Mosley on HBO where as Cotto fought both on PPV. He can do decent numbers.

Also bro it goes both ways. Prior to his comeback this whole board, Bob Arum and even sports media said Floyd couldn't draw flies. The whole Oscar and Hatton were the only reason Floyd sold 1 ppv was a regular point made. Its changed since the Marquez fight a bit but people talk smack at both ends.

            your grasping at straws.

Cotto had around 500,000 PPV's against Margarito, over 350K against Mosley, and under 300K with Judah.

Margarito previously had a PPV with a BUM that did 25K buys.

Marquez did 100,000 BUYS against a well established fighter and name in Joel Casamayor.

Cotto is by far a bigger draw than Marquez and contributed to the PPV with Pacquiao
