In what way is the pre-Castillo Mayweather better than today's Mayweather?

Aside from experience, what has Floyd Mayweather Jr. added in his arsenal or adjusted in his fight game through the years that made him a better fighter?

    none?

I prefer the floyd that fought castillo the first time and before.

floyd in those days was just not content on winning a decision and was very fun to watch not just from a technical standpoint but from an entertainment stand point.

if anything floyd has learned from them till now is to be patient and risk nothing and win a decision

it does not sound like a complement but floyd really has the ability to neutralize and shutdown his opponent effectiveness.

which in return means winning a fight with minimal damage.

which i am sure most fighters would agree is a plus (ignoring the manner in which floyd achieves this goal)

not exactly what boxing or casual fans want but his effectiveness can not be denied.

Floyd is 10x better after JLC. If you want to use a before & after then the JLC fight is not the one to gauge on. He didnt reach his prime until after those fights

How then is he 10x better? that's all I'm asking? Of course he gained more experience, became more patient, calculating probably (or overly cautious) but as far as skills what has he added?

Wow, a legitimate thread about Floyd.

In my opinion he has become better at staying out of exchanges and fighting more "negatively" so to speak. A bad thing some might say but it is effective especially as he's moved up in weight.

No... After that Floyd cherry pick all of his opponents.

I would love to see Floyd against Margarito, Cotto, Mosley, Clottey or Williams,.

But Floyd was scared to death on fighting any of them

I dont think he's added anything but he's not like other fighters. He basically had it all from the jump. He just got better at it. Im being serious. Its like Pac had to add the right hand, learn how to box more, and so on. Floyd didnt. He just had to keep fine tuning what he already had. Its just more experince and him coming into his prime years. He's always been a thinker in the ring, he never wants to get hit, and he's not going to throw anything that he doesnt think will land.
