Dimitri Sartison's Trainer Blasts Arena's Ahmet Oner

Magomed Shaburov, a trainer within Universum Box Promotion, has lashed out at Arena Box Promotion CEO Ahmet Oner. The war of words started when Oner harshly criticized Shaburov’s boxer WBA "regular" super middleweight title holder Dimitri Sartison by saying that he wasn’t a real champion. Sartison won the "regular" title last weekend. Mikkel Kessler was elevated to "super" champion prior to losing that title to Andre Ward. [details]

Stuff in that article for several lawsuits.

WBA is a joke though. Giving a 'regular' belt to someone under these circumstances seals what most of us has known for years. It's all about money. Nothing about credibility.

Yes but he's right: Sartison isn't a real champion. Beating a clubfighter to claim a fake WBA belt doesn't make you a champion

His opponent Bozic was ranked higher than Sartisan before the fight by the WBA, by BoxRec and by the IBO's computerized rankings. He was a contender not a clubfighter.

Bozic's rankings were pure bull****, as many rankings are. (boxrec has a fighter ranked 16th in the world after beating an 11-9 opponent in his first fight, for example).
Bozic had beaten no one, and he had been KO'd in two rounds the last time he fought anyone decent, which was three years ago. He may not considered a clubfighter, but he had no business being in a world "title" fight, as he showed against Sartison. I saw the fight. He wouldn't have lasted two rounds with anybody in the Super Six tourney, or Bute for that matter.
The point is, the title is fake crap the WBA foisted on us the same day the real WBA supermiddleweight champion, Kessler, was getting beat by Ward. Nobody but Sartison, his trainer, his promoter and his fans can believe he's a real champion until he actually beats a real champion

Sartisan is a very underrated fighter.

Time will prove me right about this.

You might be right Tunney. All I'm saying is this particular fight against this particular opponent didn't prove it
