As the fight entered the fateful ninth, Hopkins was ahead on two of the judges' scorecards (79-73 and 78-74), with the third judge having Oscar ahead (77-75).

Was he ahead on Ledermans scorecard?

I can't remember bit I think I remember HBO thinking that Hopkins might have been behind because he gave away the early rounds.

was the fight actually contracted at 156, i have the de la hoya career set on dvd and im sure when i watched that fight they said that hopkins just came in light to prove a point, that he didnt have to just use his size to win and he could outbox oscar

He's right. Hopkins rehydrated to 169 while Dela Hoya refused to weigh-in on HBO's unofficial fight-time scale.

He went from 175 to 182 against Tarver and 170 to 180 against Wright. Hopkins has always been good at cutting weight.
