I must agree with this discerning post. Teddy Atlas as either a fight forecaster or trainer is "the kiss of death" to na fighters aspirations.I won so many times by backing the other guy, that my friends wouldn't bet any more.
Dear lord, just over two pages into the topic and the Klitites are already copying and pasting from the word documents they keep on their desktops.
At least, their expertise, social standards, and huge charity involvements make them very deserving of admiration. Even if we forget about their unique boxing records, their other activities and sentiments deserve the highest praise.
And since I'm a mature, long time boxing aficionado, who was never what is called a "fan" [from the noun "fanatic"}
I believe that my opinion has more merit than most.
You sound as if you were one of the rabid detractors wanting to drink Klitschko's blood when he had to postpone before his Rahman fight. I think that "coward" was the highest praise he got during that period when he got a career ending injury.
I don't like the thought that you had to stop reading; you were doing very well. But from now on, to facilitate your limitations, I'll use much simpler language.
The amateur game is completely different from the pro game, everyone knows this.
That's why all the stories coming out of the Povetkin camp are about how he is very excited over the new things he is learning and that he's soaking them up like a sponge.
The heavyweight division is in it's worst state possibly ever.
Who are the top fighters: Chris Arreola? Eddie Chambers? Kevin Johnson? Nikolai Valuev? John Ruiz? Sam Peter???
lol
What a wasteland.
At least Povetkin is a live body especially now that he has Teddy Atlas training him.
At this moment what the Klitschkos have left undisturbed in the divisions [IBF, WBA, WBC,WBO] are the remnants of a pretty respectable group of challengers.
From the time W.K began his run, with an overwhelming beat down of Samuel Peter, for his first loss- who incidentally won the WBC title shortly afterwards- his opponents were;
Chris Byrd [champion], Calvin Brock 29-0, Ray Austin 24-2, Lamon Brewster 9fromer Champ, and WK conqueror] 33-2, Sultan Ibragimov [champion] 23-0, Tony Thompson 31-1, Hasim Rahman [former 2 time champ], and Ruslan Chagaev 25-0 [champion].
What he's done basically is to clean out his division. All his opponents were either #1 contenders or in the top 5, or champions in another line.
And Every One Was a beatdown and bad KO.
I don't think I have to go into the record of VK. You can look it up for yourself, but I'm sure you already know it. They ceach have fought the best opposition available, and, until it became so obvious that they were so much better, Many "respected" experts, backed their opponents.
