The referee in Paret vs. Griffith should have been investigated.

Paret was out in the corner with the ropes holding him up, his arms hanging down, but the ref let Griffith hit him at least ten more times.

everytime death happens in the ring, a referee is always blamed. some ref might have some lapses for not stopping the fight when it is apparent the fight should be stopped. but why single out the referees? the corner has also their own responsibilities. the welfare of their fighter is their own lookout. the cornermen sees the fight as the refs do. is it not also the lookout of the cornermen to stopped the fight when it is very clear that the fighter got beat?

instead of calling on the ref, why not include the cornermen? they too have lapses of their own.
