There were a lot of excellent exciting fights this year. I don't think that I would have Bivol vs Beterbiev on the list. Neither of their fights lived up to the hype or the possibilities in my opinion. They just weren't that good. I'd replace them with any number of fights , Abdullah Mason vs Sam Noakes is a good one. Takuma Inoue vs Seiya Tsutsumi was a really good one also.

        4. Christian Mbilli d pts 10 Lester Martinez (September 13)

There were many who felt this super-middleweight clash of unbeatens might steal the show in Las Vegas, the night Terence Crawford defeated Saul “Canelo” Alvarez at the Allegiant Stadium, and while it didn’t take the shine off Crawford’s win, it clearly surpassed it as fight of the night and was one of the most thrilling of the year. Guatemalan Martinez was unfortunate to only earn a draw having punched with – and for many outpunched – the Canada-based Frenchman through 10 frenetic rounds.

A contender for Fight of the Year? But Grandma Lover wasn’t impressed, he thinks Christian “Mbummi” looked like a bum because he had a hard time against Lester Martinez, a guy “with 4 KO’s.”

Both fights lived up to the hype. That is what you get when the 2 elite face off

Mbilli Martinez . Not even close . Although Wardley lucky punch deserves a little credit after losing every round . Huni took it on very short notice though so that takes some glory out of it .

Mbilli / Martinez for me too , even with me being a big Monster fan. Those two fought like they were possessed.
