Comments Thread For: Daily Bread Mailbag: Long-lasting champions, fathers and sons, and Crawford vs. The Greats
In this week's mailbag, top coach Stephen "Breadman" Edwards analyses which welterweights of the past 50 years would have given Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns problems in the ring.

'I saw you on Pro Box TV doing the Roach vs Pitbull and Foster vs Fulton fights. Bro, you need a job. You called both fights exactly how the judges did. You had the right score both times. And you called a draw in Roach vs Pitbull at like the halfway point. I found it interesting that you weren’t card counting. You just said your score and went onto the next round. The Foster vs Fulton fight was easy to score. But Roach vs Pitbull was tight and you didn’t actually know who had won until the producer told you that you scored the fight a draw. You’re one of the best people in all of boxing. Salute Breadman'
So the foster fight was easy to score and the other one was real tight, ok then
I think Bread is being unduly harsh on Alicia Keys.
I would love for her to clinch me as tight as Haney bear hugs his opponents. Just for fun I'd break free knowing that she'd pounce on me even quicker and hug me even tighter
I'd never heard of Keri Hildon but having established that she's a beauty she can have a go at efficiently chasing me around the ring and cornering me along the ropes.
Perhaps Bread is right after all, there's room to appreciate both women's 'skills'
If I was, say, say a builder doing some work on Crawford's house, I'd definitely have my lawyer draw up a watertight contract. He knew what the WBC charge for the bill was before the fight. If he didn't like it he should have said something before the fight.
On the other hand, the WBC knew he was 'problematic' after he didn't pay them for the Madrimov belt win - they could have stripped him then.
First off, "Smoking Aces" Alicia Keys is definitely my type! Go New York! "Get On Up" Jill Scott is my type too! Salute to Philly! It's a damn shame Terence Crawford didn't fight Manny Pacquiao at WW before Jeff Horn! In fact, immediately after he dominated Viktor Postol, Crawford should've went to 147 and fought Manny Paquiao! Molina Jr., Diaz, and Indongo were totally unnecessary! Unifying 140 will never measure up to what beating Pacquiao would have done to enhance Crawford's legacy! Crawford demanded Pacquiao to come to 140, and that was the worst mistake of his career! Instead of Top 15, he would've been Top 10!
