Boxing HAS become pretty stagnant in the U.S. Ever since foreigners became the money players in the sport.
Bob Arum doesn’t have a network for his fighters. Al Haymon does, but PBC doesn’t know how to promote or how to consistently put on good cards on a regular basis that people can get accustomed to.
In fact, now that I think of it, you could say that boxing in America started to go downhill ever since Haymon and Richard Schaefer ripped off the Golden Boy roster and moved those fighters from HBO over to Showtime and a bunch of other networks. Saturday night boxing has never been the same since.
