Great article Tris. I say all the time. Every boxing fan should experience Vegas fight week. I’ve been to fights all over the world, but the buzz for a Vegas fight is just different.

        Cosign RJJ's post above

Got my first taste as a kid in the ballroom at Las Vegas Hilton for Carbajal-Gonzalez I. Been hooked ever since. The way punches sound in those ballrooms is something.

100% recommend Vegas big fight weekend. You'll see a good amount of current and older fighters and boxing characters and most are very approachable and love to talk about the fights.

It'll be interesting for this fight because it's on Netflix. There is no need for traditional closed circuit anymore, but I hope there will still be large viewing parties (hopefully it mitigates some of the cost of closed circuit which kept on increasing to over $100). Closed circuit was always fun if you couldn't get a ticket to the actual fight.

Love seeing that picture of the Joe Louis statue - used to be my avatar here .. I would always try to walk by it on the Friday before the fights. My personal boxing pilgrimage i guess. They've moved it around over the years, hopefully still visible today.

anyway, too much to write on this topic, a lot of memories. Really good article

Test them now. I'm tired of the after box.
