Quite a Berchelt fan watching his bouts against Francisco Vargas and Takashi Miura.
After months recovering from Covid before his bout with Valdez, it was noticeable that his gas tank and reflexes were diminished, which played a vital role on his accumulative pressure style, he wasn't the sharpest, but he was heavy handed, well rounded and could throw a lot with precision. He needed the qualities he had to compensate for any deficits.
Too bad he received too much damage from Valdez and Nakathila afterwards. Not sure if Berchelt would had beaten Valdez if he wasn't sick in the first place, but he likely wouldn't be caught the way he did.
Miguel also doesn't seem to have the size advantage that he possessed at Super Featherweight. Which he was reliant on in contrast of let's Shakur Stevenson who doesn't it need it as much to have success.
