I like the reunion with Robles, but it feels like a few years too late. I don't see where Valdez goes from here. Shock, Sugar Nunez, Navarrete, and Raymond Ford. All of these fighters would be favored to beat Valdez at this point.

But, Mickey said it best in Rocky II, "Every pug thinks he has one good one left..."

Haha, this was my first thoughts too, but didn't he already come up dirty after he beat Miguel Berchelt?

It took a few years (3) under Reynoso for Valdez to test positive for phentermine ahead of a September 2021 title defense against Robson Conceicao. (2019-2021)

Won't question his other wins based on how he comes up for other fights, but do wonder if the controversial win over Robson Conceicao should be a no contest.

Julio Cesar Martinez tested positive 2 years after being under Reynoso, in his fight with Angelino Cordova. Prior to that he had no contests due to hitting Charlie Edwards while he was down (Edward filed for a No Contest) and a head clash stopped the fight between McWilliams Arroyo.

Munguia and Rodriguez not even a year had passed, and only inside one camp, they had tested positive.

Ai info from online replied with:

"Valdez tested positive for phentermine, a stimulant banned by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA), which was responsible for drug testing before the fight. However, the Pascua Yaqui Tribe Athletic Commission, which sanctioned the fight, adhered to World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) guidelines, which only banned phentermine during the "in-competition period" (beginning at 11:59 p.m. the day before the fight). Since the positive test occurred outside this period, the fight was allowed to proceed.

Despite the controversy and public outcry, Valdez was not stripped of his title by the WBC and was allowed to retain it after winning the fight against Conceicao. Robson Conceicao filed a formal complaint following his defeat, citing the positive drug test as one of his grievances."

Both samples (A and B) came positive by the way, but I don't understand the affects of the phentermine and rules, especially about how phentermine is alright only applied outside the day of the fight to lose weight, is it ok or not?

Also what is there for him now? The thing he could is challenge Conceicao for a mandatory shot against Foster. His odds of winning either is low unless under Manny he shows a resurgence, but even if he did, difficult to say he win against Robson.
