200m for a big sports event that will draw attention to their platform isnt a shocking move for a streaming company in 2025
It has to be that or turki would be losing money by not using ppv. But like you said, maybe Netflix pay best

I’ll re-sub but I’m still holding out hope that it’ll be made available to all subscribers at no additional fee. After all it’s Netflix and more importantly, Money-grubbling Eddie won’t have his greasy fingers all over this.
I’ll add that if big boxing events were available to the general viewers, We(US) would get more Olympic gold. Kids aren’t growing up watching boxing anymore.

But as a promoter. These guys are crazy.
They are paying out 200 million in guaranteed contracts. Yoi would think they would want some ppv backend

$80 ppv × 1 million ppv buys....thats 80 million that they are leaving on the table.

    But oh well
Are they? How did you get this information?

I'm not sure where this sport goes from here.
I still enjoy a good evenly matched fight at lower levels. Comparing things with how they used to be is a losing proposition in that we almost always look back and remember the good but not the bad. I gave up hoping my life would drastically improve, now I enjoy the small things and work on small improvements. Regards fights - Mayweather and his focus on being unbeaten is to blame a lot for not getting the best match-ups as fighters like Tank and Canelo are currently not taking risks and making huge money - and that in turn feeds down to the next generation of fighters
    Usyk-Dubois
    Taylor-Serrano
    The whole Berlanga-Shheraz card
    Canelo-Bud
    Inoue-M.A
    i'll watch all

I host a lot of boxing events at my home. Paul/Tyson is not my cup of tea but many wanted to see it so I hosted. It was a disaster because Netflix crashed, half of the people left and we had to watch the event on a 30 minute delay.
