I'm really rooting for Artur Beterbiev. Beterbiev always reminds me of Marvin Hagler, starts awkward and then turns into an unrelenting attack, alternating left and right hands over and over forever, rarely volunteering to take a back step. Btw, why isn't there an article on Claressa Shields and testing positive for weed? It could just be me missing it on boxingscene but I had a good look.
As good a round up as I've ever read. Worthy of the card.
Here in New Zealand they covered the Joseph Parker fight on the main public radio station this morning but the sports reporter admitted he'd not heard of Bakole so he and the anchor had very little of value to say. I got no dog in this one, just want it to be definitive in outcome and good for the fans and boxing in general.
I like Bivol just fine, admire his sportsmanship, talent, and dedication to his craft, but Beterbiev is just on another level when it comes to our idealized images of the throwback ATGs like Hagler, Monzon, and Sanchez. I'm sure you can add names to the list. They have the craft and skill but the destroyers in them are always on display.
