For a British boxing scene where essentially we will support our fighters no matter what and these two are quality fighters.

But....

These two have no momentum and sadly no charisma.

To the extent aside from picking up an interim belt what happens then?

Maybe it is a sign of the new saudi era that it doesn't matter but both of these I feel would struggle to sell out an arena in England fighting Beterbiev or Bivol.

Smith is a totally different fighter to Ward , who in his day was top drawer, but now old and slow with just tactical advise .I think Josh beats Smith but the Ward 'sparring' will have little to do with it.

I'd definitely pick Ward to beat Smith with a training camp even coming off the 'couch.'

I know I'm commenting on the thread so I must be interested in it in some kind of way.

But I saw a sky interviewer saying to Buatsi that he thought the styles would gel and this couldn't fail to be a good one. Buatsi obviously agreeing.

I cant imagine anything but two guys being defensively responsible behind high held guards pawing and hitting gloves and arms.

Buatsi delivering a vertical supplex would probably be welcome after about 5 rounds.

I’m glad Smith is back no shame losing to a prime Canelo and Beterbiev but this being for an interim WBO strap is interesting.

Won’t help sparring with Ward. Should be an even up fight and hopefully Smith gets the W.
