Comments Thread For: Jaime Munguia never saw it coming, stunned by Upset of the Year loss to Bruno Surace

No one saw this coming ? least of all Jaime Munguia. On Saturday, in what was meant to be something of a showcase fight at the Estadio Caliente in his hometown of Tijuana, Mexico, Munguia ? a former junior middleweight titleholder ? was stunned by France?s Bruno Surace in a sixth-round, one-punch knockout defeat.

mungia really let that canelo fight go to his head. he was actually trying to fight like nelo. loading up big shots and just wacking away at the arms lol. Bruno literally just waited for Mungia to punch himself out lol. I don't care what compubox says, i didnt see more than 20 punches landed by Bruno.

Did Erik Morales work Munguia's corner? I remember how I questioned instructions that he gave Munguia in his last fight. He implored Munguia to be more aggressive, when it wasn't necessary. Munguia was able to get the stoppage, but I thought the advice was dangerous. I felt Munguia should have stayed with Freddie Roach even after coming up short against Canelo. His career might be at the crossroads now...
