IRVING, Texas - Age is just a number, or so they say. It is a saying that is meant as motivation, an exhortation not to curl up and prepare for death the moment you hit 60, an encouragement to be fit and healthy and to continue living the best life you can.

Look, it's obviously quite a high chronological age number, especially for boxing.

But the biological age is the real age, and I'm sure eight two minute rounds, if it goes the distance, is not difficult for Tyson.

Bernard Hopkins was still doing good in his 50's & Saul Mamby did his las fight at 60(he should be the oldest profesional fighter ever, but some other dude at a older age did a pro fight. Even tho that fight the older dude did was obviously staged. It looked faker than a "WWE" show.) So I don't see the big deal in Tyson fighting at 58, and a so called fight lije this obe that looks more like a hyped up exhibition bout.

what if Paul becomes concussed and never comes out of it ? Should we stop allowing wanna be's from fighting inside the ropes ?

The article is only referring to age and not ability. There are a lot of dudes who have no business in the ring.

Firstly, this is a sanctioned fight?
Your not going to tell me they both won't piss hot.

& it's sad that this fight can make more money than any heavyweight fight since Mike was in his prime over 30 years ago without Saudi blood money over paying them.

Tyson looked good in the short clips that have been put out there this week but the clips are short and they're supposed to make him look good. To me, he was moving like an old man at the weigh-in (except for the slap-that was vintage Tyson).
I like Mike and hope he makes a lot of money and don't get hurt.
As for this as a sanctioned fight, every time you think boxing has gone as low as it can go, they drain a little more water out of the pond.

As we’re fond of saying around here, Father Time is undefeated. But it’s the truth. This is coming from a guy who’s also 58, and fitter than most men half my age. I don’t care what the activity is, no one is anywhere near their prime abilities at that age — especially fighters. If this event tonight really turns out to be a fight, then Jake Paul wins against the ghost of Mike Tyson. It’s an easy call. Mike’s comment of beating Paul with just 10% of his prime ability is nonsense.

The fact you people are even commenting on this "fight" is embarrassing.

I have to admit, that slap was lightning quick. Lol But that was just one moment, catching his opponent off-guard. I agree with everything you said about Tyson’s clips. I think Mike will look good for very short spurts in the first and even second round, but that’ll be it. After that, Paul will show why this is a sad match-up to begin with. I’ve gotta hand it to Jake, the guy knows how to promote and make things happen. Tyson couldn’t make this a big event on his own, and neither could Paul, but it was Jake’s abilities that brought the two together to make some real noise.
