After Katie beat Cindy Serrano in 2018 (Amanda's sister) they offered Amanda the fight several times but she kept avoiding it. Along with avoiding what would have been her biggest payday at that point in time. It took her 4 more years to finally agree to fight KT, in 2022. When she lost, Amanda was offered the immediate rematch. Again she turned down the fight, this time for 2 years.
It was clear to see that Amanda has been banking on Taylor getting old and slowing down, since her style is heavily reliant on speed and athleticism. Ever since Katie dominated her sister Cindy, I think Amanda probably got spooked because she never saw her big sis whupped so easily before. Maybe even her sister advised her not to fight Katie back in 2018. But as KT is halfway through her 38th year now, will Amanda's duck strategy finally pay off in this rematch?
