Comments Thread For: Artur Beterbiev didn't like the fight, yet still beats brilliant Dmitry Bivol

After waiting so long for him to say something, Artur Beterbiev then suddenly said too much, reminding us all that the blessing and curse of a man of few words is that their few words carry great meaning.

This article writer doesn't know **** about boxing. Beterbiev always says the same things after a fight. That he will do better next time, that there's room for improvement, that he wants to be a better boxer. Anyone who follows boxing already knows this. It's like these are his stock English phrases that he's practiced and repeats constantly. Nothing unusual or controversial to be found in what he said after this fight, as it's his same response as previous fights.

Turki says that now, but nothing is concrete in this business. Promoters talk fantasy scenarios but it doesn't always come off (Canelo vs Crawford). What's good for the fans, and good for the sport, sometimes doesn't materialise - in this case the rematch.

It wouldn't be a shock if Beterbiev moves up to cruiser, leaving all the 175lb belts behind for one last shot at further glory by facing a 200lb beltholder. He's probably too old and too small to make that leap successfully, but these elite boxers always stretch themselves to unrealistic heights for the challenge.

He always says something similar to that, but this is the first time he said.

"Dmitry is a world champion too. He has good skills, better than me, but today Allah chose me.”

Launching a personal attack on a writer just because the article does not agree with your view is a not a good look.

I honestly think you are reading too much into someone who struggles with English making a comment after an emotional moment. I truly believe he meant that he could have done better and wasn't impressed with himself (qualities of a great, humble champion imo) and the thing he said about Bivol, I think he was implying that Bivol is more technically skilled, but he beat him aggresion, pressure, heart etc.

People are making way too much out of this. Fight could have gone either way. This article makes it sound like Bivol schooled the man...that's not what happened here. Period.

Beterbiev thinks he lost the fight so did his corner that’s why he said god gave him a gift lol

I am not making anything out of it. I simply quoted Beterbiev word for word. You seem to be making a subjective interpretation of what he really meant (which of course we don't know) according to your agenda. As soon as you say "I truly believe" whatever follows after that are not facts - they are just subjective opinions and interpretations.
