  • Comments Thread For: Bakhram Murtazaliev's promoters expecting war with 'tough MF-er' Tim Tszyu

Bakhram Murtazaliev just won his first world title earlier this year and, to make his name, will attempt to defend it against Tim Tszyu, who just lost his world title--and doesn't want another fighter to make their name at his expense.

Like I said, down deep in my heart I hope I'm wrong. To me, I don't have Tim as the favorite. I never heard of Martizaliev until recently. That's the problem. People are blowing Tim's horn since I can't remember when. I don't think Martizaliev is as weird as the Tower, but adequate, a big jr mid. Thurman should have never entered the conversation and Tim losing after Thurman aged out didn't change my conception. I wish good luck to them, I'm looking for a good fight.

It's not the best division. The only decent fighter there is Crawford and he struggled at 154 due size.

I think the problem with this fight is that none of us really know much about Murtazaliev. We can all go on Boxrec and analyse but we have no idea of his real level. Tim is the favorite because he has been on TV for a while and people have watched him fight contenders in the last 2 to 3 years. On paper he has a better resume, but what happens in a real fight, nobody knows.
