  • Comments Thread For: Fighting Words: Artur Beterbiev-Dmitry Bivol concludes stretch of undisputed championship fights

Before 2020, there had been only four male undisputed champions in boxing's four-belt era. Since 2020, there have been 10* more. And in one week, barring a draw, that number will increase to 11* since 2020 and 15* overall. (Details on those asterisks will come further below.)

Bivol has looked on fire recently and in training, hard one to call now, Beterbiev may not be a 100% if the knee hasn't fully healed; and can bivol stay away from Beterbiev power for 12 Rds.....

I am starting to lean towards bivol.... I can't decide!

Can bivol stop Beterbiev..... I might put a small bet on?

I don't think Bivol can stop Beterbiev. He could not stop many other opponents not half as good as Beterbiev, who by the way can take a good shot.

Only two possible scenarios - Bivol by decision or Beterbiev by stoppage. The other options are not very likely.

Beterbiev might sustain a bad cut that forces a stoppage, his knee may blow out, all kinds of things might happen.
Bivol is a mover and he might force Beterbiev to move in ways he doesn't want to - we just don't know yet.
          We're all just guessing.
I wouldn't be surprised if Beterbiev catches Bivol and stops him, and I wouldn't be surprised if Bivol
boxes his way to a decision.
It's how either wins that will be interesting to see, IMHO.

I dont see Bivol capable of stopping Arthur but def can see him snatching a tight Decision.

After the fight we will all be smart because it will be obvious - one of them will clearly assert themselves and probably make it look easy. Right now nobody knows what happens.

So 50/50, if I put a bet on it will be in the week of the fight when I've seen both men up close.

What a joke that you listed Lopez and Kambosos with their ****** WBC Franchise belt. They weren't undisputed. The WBA, WBO, and IBF all recognized Haney as the WBC champion and the Franchise title as a fake ceremonial belt.

First off, get rid of the voluntary defense. Too many fuggin guys waiting on their shot at a title AND too many unifications to be made. With that, there should be NO “voluntary defenses”. Secondly, neither Teofimo Lopez nor George Kambosos were ever undisputed. Third, mad respect to all the guys who are or were undisputed. With special consideration for Usyk and Crawford. Lastly, it’s time I give Naoya Inoue his respect. Ive been semi shihttin on the guy in the past BUT this guy does nothing but the one thing that im asking of a champion, fight the other champions in YOUR f’n division. My guy never fails. It’s fuggin impossible for a guy to prove that he’s the best in boxing because he can’t fight everybody in boxing (abolish the P4P list). He can, however, prove that he is the best in HIS fuggin division. And i dont wanna hear shiht bout a weak division either. You fight who is there. Guys aint doin it. Inoue does that shiht and I can only respect it.
