  • Comments Thread For: Bakhram Murtazaliev's name recognition starts with 'titleholder'

Bakhram Murtazaliev doesn't possess the most prominent name in boxing, but he does own the commodity of a 154-pound belt - which he plans to fully leverage in seeking his richest purse yet.

Murtazaliev should jump in the ring after.

"Murtazaliev’s powerful manager, Egis Klimas, told BoxingScene he plans to bring the unbeaten (22-0, 16 KOs) fighter to the Aug. 3 Los Angeles card headlined by the WBA junior middleweight title bout between titleholder Israil Madrimov and unbeaten three-division champion Terence Crawford."

Klimas plans to "bring" him to the fight, but hasn't brought him a fight yet? The man didn't fight from December 2022, until April 2024! That's why nobody knows him! Now he doesn't want Tzsyu in Australia? Why not?

Murtazaliev does that and its all but guaranteed Bud will fight him. Bud seems extremely competitive.

Exactly! He has zero 'pull' - apart from the belt which is something I guess - but if he's in boxing to make money he should go fight in Australia. Otherwise what is he doing ? holding desperately on to the belt and looking to sell it to (the highest bidder) Turki

If he's going to fight Tszyu , the money is in Australia. I don't see the winner of the Crawford fight fighting him , not if Turki wants to make Crawford/Canelo next. If Crawford doesn't take any damage on August 3rd , he could fight him in a quick turnaround to have another belt for leverage. Or Murtazaliev could fight the winner of Spence / Fundora to have three belts and a ton of leverage for an Undisputed fight against the winner of the August 3rd fight. Murtazaliev is in a good position to get a nice payday as it stands, if he wins any of those fights the one after that will be really good. It's a tough row to hoe no matter which fight he takes. Crawford , Tszyu , Spence , or Fundora. None of them an easy fight.

Fundora has two belts , the one that Tszyu had and one more that was put up by the Alphabet Gang for their fight. I don't know which belt is which , I don't pay attention to any of them. Only thee Ring belt matters as far as I'm concerned and I don't give a flip about that one either.

WBO allows another WBO champ moving up in weight to get first shot. Since fundora is defending the WBC vs Spence, WBO stripped fundora of the WBO and bud petitioned for the vacant WBO to be on the line in a unification when he challenges WBA Madrimov. If Bud wins on 8/3, it’s possible for him to return before years end and attempt to collect the IBF from Murtazaliev , leaving the WBC (Spence/fundora winner) as the final piece for undisputed
