Sounds to me like one of those times no one but DuBois and Joshua will be disappointed if they grant an exception. Better yet, write in a permanent exception to their rule book that the "mandatory before rematch" clause does not apply to an undisputed rematch. I mean, how often will this be a thing?
It's not just one fight though. They already waited a year to enforce the mandatory while Fury and Usyk negotiated and then postponed twice. If they make the decision to wait again then it could be a similar time frame.

At some point they have to enforce their rules.

It's a disgrace if they do. Seems convenient timing to not strip him when hrgovic was in the picture as mandatory for a few years but the second aj is involved it's time to strip him

If enforcing their rules means stripping the undisputed champion to give his belt to the winner of a fight between a guy he beat twice vs a guy he knocked out with a jab, the IBF should just fold up shop tomorrow.

There’s only two guy’s who should be fighting for the world title and it’s not Daniel or Anthony, who should fight an eliminator having both been banjoed on numerous occasions. The real champions are Usyk and Fury end of story . I hope IBF see’s sense in this .

The IBF isn’t going to do anything to jeopardize the Usyk v Fury II sanction fee. Usyk gets his exemption and will keep his belts. Sheesh, you talking about corrupt sanctioning bodies here.

It's exactly what it means. If the orgs wanted the best titleholder then there'd be no need for 4 orgs.

This system suits everybody except the fans and is why Undisputed is so rare and so important. It is what it is.

Insane how AJ almost conned his way into an undisputed title shot. For this the fury loss was satisfying. As for this one, I’m cool with it being for a title. DDD gonna put the hurting on this guy

                    There's no need for 1.

TBH, Fury has been ”banjoed” a few times himself. Usyk beat that ass up and down the street. Only Fury zealots think that fight was close. No need st all for a rematch because the world saw very clearly which guy is superior. A 300lb Fury won’t do any better.
