Haney fought and beat the guy who beat Lopez, fought Loma, fought Prograis, and now is fighting Garcia. He does what others dont do because he has confidence. About 80% of fighters do everything to avoid top competition. What makes me excited for boxing is when top prospects fight each other and top contenders fight each other and champions fight each other. The 168 pound division is buried in guys waiting for the Canelo sweepstakes instead of fighting each other and that pisses me off.

But lets say for example the fight could have gone either way. Imagine a Loma from 5 years ago fighting the recent Haney, it is a no-brainer a much younger Loma would have won comfortably.

"If he left a bit of himself in the ring against Haney, however, it may be left eternally out of Loma’s grasp."
What about what Kambosos left in the ring vs Haney? Vasyl may have left a bit of himself in the ring vs Devin, but George left part of his soul.

I think that it was a mistake on Lomachenkos part to stay amateur as long as he did . Lots of European fighters do the same thing and in my opinion it's not the best move.

Loma most talented fighter of the last decade, tied with Bud in that category for me. Waited til mid 20's to go pro and add in Ukraine Russia stuff, and him being inactive for long periods, along with injuries.....

He beat Haney and everyone knows it. Only people who act like he didn't are Loma haters, or they just like Haney, for whatever reason.

I hope to see him still have some of that magic left, and after stopping George, fight a few more times and get a couple of good wins and then hang them up. Him and Shakur is a close fight. Prime Loma beats Shakur up but right now that is a toss up.
