  • Comments Thread For: Ryan Garcia Confident He Could Tame Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz In Five Rounds

Ryan Garcia is already evaluating future opportunities following his anticipated clash with Devin Haney on April 20 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) has marred his preparations to face Haney (31-01, 15KOs) with a diet of worrying behavior and conduct bordering on delusional ahead of the all-California affair with rival Haney and challenging for the WBC world super lightweight title, which Haney currently holds. "King Ry," however, confirmed in a recent FightHub TV interview that he would welcome an opportunity to face Isaac Cruz.

Dude needs to stfu already and focus on April 20. I never thought I'd say this (because I really don't like Haney) but I'll root for Haney and his professional approach to his craft. The sooner Ryan Garcia loses the sooner he will disappear.

Entertaining fight, but not sure if Ryan is disciplined enough to box for twelve rounds and find the opportunity to land a left hook to the temple.

I think that Ryan's style is specialized against smaller sized fighters like Pitbull with his counter punching and insane handspeed.

He had showed some improvement to fighting similiar sized fighters to an extent with Derrick James's tutelage in a single fight despite using the horrible shell defense against Duarte, he still has a stiff head with not much movement, but a active high guard and a waist movement is better than being an easy target whose only able to pull back to land a counter.

Pitbull might not be the most skilled fighter around, but he has very good stamina with a high punch output and is quite durable with a very tight defense that athletic puncher like Romero and even Davis had difficulty breaking through.

You need superb boxing skills or athleticism coupled with discipline not to get caught or forced onto a inside fight. Ryan has solid skills, superb handspeed coupled with power. Just don't know if he can withstand the pressure. Thought it be like Khan vs Maidana before, not so sure now.

Unfortunately because he's popular with a lot of casual idiots he'll probably stick around like a bad penny or cheap sunglasses for a decade getting KTFO like Amir Khan and getting another opportunity over and over because the risk/reward ratio is great with him. We fans will have to tolerate his idiocy for awhile yet.
