Comments Thread For: Dmitry Bivol Approached With Jai Opetaia Fight, Only Focused On Chance At Undisputed At 175 Pounds

WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol has a one-track mind moving forward, and it might as well be billed undisputed or bust. Bivol (22-0, 11 KOs) handily bested Lyndon Arthur by a shutout unanimous decision during a title defense on Dec. 23. The

If Bivol were to beat Jai at 200 & then Beterbiev in Riyadh season at the end of the year hes in the FOTY discussion & likely a favorite to win it.

It'd be a bold move by him, but thats a big ass jump in weight & Jai is one the baddest mfers a lot of ppl don't realize is a bad mfer yet. So kinda don't fault the dude for passing.

Totally agree ; Jai is one bad mofo
The only thing is the Saudis will be demanding Beterbiev to fight Jai after he defeats Bivol
Artur has already stated that he would be interested in moving up to cruiserweight
Not sure how much time the Beterbiev has left but that would be a true barnstorm fight

Seems like Turkey may be living up to his name . Hearn was asking Bivol to move down to super middleweight to fight at a weight he's never done and now the Turkey wants him up 25lbs to cruiser weight. a weight he's never done .Jai has said he's moving up to heavyweight , get a grip lads , weight divisions for good reasons and has Bivol has rightly said , still great fights at his weight !...real Turkey!

Bivol vs Opetaia makes no sense whatsoever.

Bivol is not fighting Jai, as a matter of fact he's not fighting Arthur, Bivol dances around fighters who present serious challenges...

I’m far from a Slow Eddie fan but it was Bivol who wanted to go down to 168 and take Canelo’s belts
I don’t think he would have any problems making that weight or being damaged from it
Now going up seems in my eyes to be a problem as his frame doesn’t let me believe he would fill out to cruiserweight , meaning he’d be a small cruiserweight imo

Apparently he’s already signed his share of contract to fight Beterbiev
