  • Regis Prograis did not try very hard did he

    Anyone else catch this?

At the end of that 12 rounds he did not look like a guy who put it all on the line.

I also don't buy it that Haneys "power" spooked him.

This is a guy who went toe to toe and was eating bombs off josh Taylor yet a few counters from Haney spooked him? Really?

If that was the best Prograis has to offer now he might as well get out of the sport because that was pathetic, people paid to watch that ****. Old ass 40 year old 126 lomachenko can put up a 10x better fight than you Regis? Why is that?

Let's face it: as great as their fight was, it has been demonstrated that we all overrated both Taylor and Prograis a tiny bit.

Nah. Just Regis is not on Haney's level. That's it.

I dont know why he bothered chasing Haney around, his best round was the first when he stood still and made Haney come to him, should of kept at that, he's got decent defense should of stayed at centre and tried to potshot him as his style

Yes, he held back. He was reluctant to take any risks. Obviously he felt Devin’s power early.

I believe Haney could have stopped him if he wanted to because Regis had mentally checked out and was ready to quit.

However, Devin didn’t want to take any unnecessary risks because Prograis was always dangerous and could still punch.

Lomachenko is just much better fighter than Prograis.

              - - Dunno about how good the aging Loma is for his next bout, but could be Heinie being so young now coming into his man strength with surging confidence.

We'll know more after some more 140s are done vs solid contenders and belt holders.

He set boxing back with that pathetic display.

I thought Regis would stop Devin late but two things in regards to your post. Regis was really bothered by the speed of Haney very much like Taylor was bothered by the speed of Lopez.

On certain nights fighters are willing to sacrifice more in order to win. Prograis was willing to lay more on the line against Taylor at then he was against Haney.

There's a reason why the odds were against him from day one. He's the main reason why, and most fans don't really see him as that kind of star-level fighter. He also has a body that won't allow him to hydrate properly no matter what he does. (Which is not really unusual as millions of people have the same case.) He even came in short of 1lb in the weigh in, which added to his disadvantages.
