Comments Thread For: Devin Haney: Prograis Didn't Wanna Fight; Wanted Tune-up; Knows That He's Gonna Lose

LAS VEGAS - Devin Haney is convinced, based on what promoter Eddie Hearn has said, that Regis Prograis didn't want to fight him next. The WBC super lightweight champion preferred, according to Haney, to take another tune-up bout before facing Haney,

Haney isn’t a mandatory for Prograis and the fight got signed. That makes you and Hearn full of shyte.

Exactly! It would be one thing if Prograis was cornered in some way, or it was a mandatory, or he had a gun held to his head to sign the contract, none of which was the case. Prograis took this fight because he wanted the fight, no two ways about it.

Actually Prograis was going to fight his mandatory, they allowed him to forgo it & fight Haney. So he chose to fight Haney. He didn’t have to fight Haney he could said “no I’ll just fight my mandatory”.

Haney tried to pull this same narrative with Loma before their fight, made it seem like Loma had no choice lol. Meanwhile Loma was not the champ & Haney was. Make that make sense.

I respect Haneys skills, I hate that he tries so hard to be this tough guy/bad boy/killer. He just doesn’t have that in him. Now I know what Tank means when he says Haney wants to be like him

Prograis is going to get jabbed and hugged all night on his way to losing his belt. Huggie Bear will be a 2 division champ and jump straight up to 47 to dodge Matias and Lopez. #watch

If you watch the face off Regis did admit that he wanted a tune up first. He said he thought Devin would fight someone else first. I get it Loma officially has an L on his record and that rubs alit of people the wrong way but the boxers that's his age definitely respect Haney. You don't hear them saying he's trash and he has no skill. Maybe he was draining himself at 135 so his power was I don't want to say suspect because the faces of his opponents says he can punch and JoJo said he had decent pop but may be 135 was too much cut.
