Comments Thread For: Jose Benavidez Jr: No One Beats My Brother At 168; He's Big, Super Strong, Fast For That Weight

Jose Benavidez Jr. readily admits that his two professional losses came against elite-level opponents. The former WBA interim super lightweight champion cannot help but think, though, that those two fights would've unfolded differently if he didn't have significant difficulty getting down to 147 pounds and later 154 pounds. that's exactly what they were saying about y'all long lost brother Gilberto (basic, squares up, high volume) who was a cruiserweight in 175.

the level of the boxer in front of him and how well his legs work for 12 rounds.

Except David is better then Zurdo and Bivol is better then Doo Doo, other then that, you’re 100 percent correct

Shouldn’t Jose be worrying about his own fight ?

The difference is Zurdo has slow hands David has faster hands than Bivol plus he is more skilled than Zurdo who really is a basic fighter. Only someone blind would think Zurdo an David are the same class of fighter. Zurdo looked like garbage in fights before Bivol.

He had to drop down 20 pounds the week of his fight with Garcia because he was weighing 175 lbs at that point? WTF??sounds like he should be fighting at a much higher weight class. Doesn't he and his team watch his weight daily while they prepare for their opponent? They sound like a ****ty team.

Bivol/Andrade (50% of his power shots landed with the left and less than 20% of opponents' punches landed on him, which makes him top 3 with Crawford and Stevenson I believe (Some posted the stats on ThaBoxingVoice) = High-level boxers

Gilberto/Benavidez = Basic, come forward, big for their weight classes, and try to overwhelm with size than boxing skills

                  I think I'm pretty spot-on

I never said Andrade could beat Bivol if they were in the same class but I would put them in the same class as far as high-level boxers go statistically.

Benavidez is a cruiserweight cutting to SMW. I see Morrell jr beating Benavidez @ 168 both are better fit LHW so I see a rematch otw at such weight class
