Comments Thread For: Matias: I Was Smoking A Lot Of Pot, Vices Didn't Allow Me To Be 100 Percent Before First Loss

This isn't the same Subriel Matias that arrived in Las Vegas nearly four years ago for his fight with Petros Ananyan. Matias admits he wasn't taking training seriously enough back then. He partially attributed his lackluster performance in his first fight against Ananyan to smoking marijuana and other "vices" that kept the Puerto Rican knockout artist from reaching his potential.

Hmm. What we do know, is that he should have NEVER lost that fight. That was almost as bad as Mikey losing to Sandor Martin.

Good dude, big fans of his, and he hasn’t disappointed since. Let’s hope he puts a stamp on Ergashev, he will have his hands full with that guy.

This is why we shouldn't write people off after losing. Just look at what Robson Conceicao did the other night

Any Matias fight is a must watch but I’ve seen Ergashev in action several times and he is an extremely dangerous opponent for anyone at 140. He can box, has flashed good power, and exhibits excellent conditioning. He’s also very confident to the point of being ****y. This is actually an outstanding matchup that should be garnering a lot more attention than it has.

Leave that pot alone Matias, before it does to your brain what your opponent's punches haven't been able to do.
