Comments Thread For: Hearn on Wilder: 'He's Great For The Sport of Boxing'

After years of vitriolic exchanges, promoter Eddie Hearn and former heavyweight titlist Deontay Wilder appear to have patched things up. The two will be involved on the same card on Dec. 23 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, when Wilder takes on fellow former titlist Joseph Parker. Hearn's ace client, Anthony Joshua, will be sharing headlining duties with Wilder, in a separate fight with Swedish contender Otto Wallin. The stacked card also features a heavyweight bout between Daniel Dubois and Jarrell Miller, as well as the return of fighters such as Dmitry Bivol, Jai Opetaia, and Filip Hrgovic.

Wilder-AJ isn't happening because Wallin is going to box AJ's head off. The only thing that can save the Wilder fight is if Eddie fixes the scorecards.

I agree. Wallin will win this fight and spoil the party.

Eddie's still dangling Wilder that Aj carrot.

Eddie you openly marinated undesputed even saying "maybe Wilder will loose by then" & you call yourself a promoter, what a ****** cnut.

Probably never fight's Wilder or Fury.

Wallin ain't beating Joshua, he's a level below. Joshua already has two wins over him in the amateurs.

Wilder-Parker on the other hand is a 50/50 fight. Parker is younger, has been more active, and has better skills, chin and stamina. I think he will stop Wilder.

Unfortunately Wilder knows the only slim chance of getting the diva in the ring is to play Hearns game . Wilder has gone away all happy thinking , like he has for the last six years of all that money , Hearn has gone away thinking Hrgovic an easy money making defence and a mega money unification with either Fury or Usyk .once he's got past the lad who clearly lost to Zhang .Believe me , Hearn has no intention of letting weak chinned , soft minded Joshua on the lose with lethal hitting Wilder , he might just throw him to Fury hoping he's in serious decline as a last pension pot venture.Wilder sounds jet lagged to me!

"Great for the sport of Boxing"? Wilder has been so inactive. Hearn must know Wilder is close to calling it a day. I know I do.

Why would a promoter who wasn’t the promoter for a fighter be having “vitriolic exchanges” with a boxer? I swear Hearn would have been a great WWF bad guy manager

Eddy got a piece of Wilder. Wilder made a deal with the devil. Options, less is best, big pay day later.

Parker gets hit a bit, so where are these elite boxing skills you speak of? Joyce had no problem crushing Joe. Emporer Zhang crushed Joyce twice. Your math does not add up.

Wallin is boxing AJ's head off. I'm putting money on it with DraftKings. My only fear is that Eddie cooks the scorecards.
