Saul Alvarez To Target Andre Berto's Belt in 2010

Mexican welterweight sensation, Saul Alvarez (29-0, 22KOs) is close to a deal to fight in the United States on December 5. His manager Rafael Mendoza is negotiating with Golden Boy Promotions to bring Alvarez to the U.S. before the end of the year. At 19-years-old, Alvarez is going to close out the year with 30 pro fights. The young fighter has made a lot of noise in Mexico by calling out Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. over the last few months. 19 years old and 29-0 with 22 KO's? sounds like a ****in beast to me, he has the youth and the activity to make it to over 100 fights if he keeps going on this way and not fighting cans neither, he's already talking about Berto just next year, at 19 this kid is literally swimming with the best and we know he will lose some, he's young but it will be a great career if he stays as disciplined as he is now. I want to see more of this kid on some real ****..

        That'a boy..

But I don't like the sounds of Goldenboy tryin to get their hooks in him. Those morons will sooner ruin the kid before they benefit him. Eitherway, him squarin off with Berto in 10' ?

lol I like the sound of that. And if Cotto's still around, he's another name for Saul to consider.

Sounds like this kid and his team are taking things seriously. Thats some big talk for a youngster who is yet to prove himself. Canelo might have the goods, and Ill be watching, but I think they might be moving him along too fast.

I think they're high off him cause he's not really fighting bums. I remember reading how they ran out of people for him to fight at one point, so they had to step him up in competition early for his age, a lot earlier than they intended to. They've basically been forced to put him in with solid guys, and so far he's been takin care of business. He's got decent defense and head movement, far better than I expected, and he's got a sicc right hand.

As for him vs Berto, It makes sense. Berto's got crazy speed and a little pop, but he can be hit. lol It's a crazy step up, but it kind of makes sense. Kind of.

He is a beast and he didnt make a name for himself by calling out JCC Jr (like mark ''stealing articles'' vester'' says here.
he made it by himself fighting in the ring and KOing everyoponent or at least being an exciting fighter, besides that his fights are always on free tv in mexico, and he is a nice humble kid, i've watched all of his fights, he is personal friend of mine and i have to tell you he will be champ next year.

I doubt he'll have over 100 fights, Barrera was something like 30-0, when he was the same age as him.
