  • Comments Thread For: Usyk: Fury Underestimated Ngannou, He Will Be Different With Me

WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk is expecting a better version of Tyson Fury when they collide in the ring. Last month, Fury struggled in winning a close ten round split decision over MMA veteran Francis Ngannou, who was making his pro debut in professional boxing.

Fury trained like a man possessed for francis, couldn't have done more. But did underestimate francis as he expected to best Francis easier, or maybe overestimated his own abilities?

Fury blows hot and cold and only trains to the perceived difficulty of the fight. He was way sharper in Wilder II than Wilder III as he felt he had Wilders number for III and came in less conditioned. He may of put in the hours for Ngannou, but doubt the intensity was there. His level of preparedness for Usyk will be at the minimum level he feels he needs to win. Usyk is right to prepare for the best level of Fury, but which Fury will show up - will he get it right again ?

Whether he was blowing hot or cold, if Fury is this monster all-time great fighter 'He should of been able to distance himself, and makes things easier for himself vs Nagnnou who is a unproven boxer'.

Many past great fighters, have also shared the trait of training to the level of their opponents 'But they still most of the time, found a way to legitimately win. Or clearly show that they are all-time great fighters'.

Mike Tyson for most of the 90's although 'Mike Tyson was for 95% of his career in good condition. Skill for skill he would train to the level of the perceived threat, Mike Tyson vs Francis Botha was still able to find a way to display his all-time great abilities, and take Botha out of the fight'.

Tyson Fury should of soon as he was knocked down, be able to just bring back shades of 'The Riddler' win rounds and distance himself vs Nagnnou and win. But Fury really had a difficult time in doing this, which suggest? Ether Fury is not this great all-time great Heavyweight to the level his fans claim, or that Fury's form has dropped considerably 'I believe it is a combination of both, because Fury outside of Kiltschko & Wilder has barely fought at World level'.

At some point that type of behavior and attitude as a fighter will show up inside the ring.

Note: The reality of the situation is, that Fury did trained seriously for Ngannou 'That was why his performance hit hard, Fury did not act like a man who had severely underestimated Nhannou 'Fury during the aftermath was acting as if, he had trained seriously but was beaten up and he was alarmed by this'.

But nevertheless, I do expect Fury to increase his levels for the Usyk fight 'But by how much? After years of not really having the best work ethic in the game, if Fury now suddenly decides to trained like a Olympic Athlete. That kind of altercation can lead to over-training, if a fighter is not physiologically acclimatized to that type of lifestyle'.

Tyson Fury is a big time performer, so if he is going to improve it will be against Usyk etc.

That wasn't the best Fury we've seen, but maybe that's all that's left.

Still not convinced Fury wants this fight.

The Usyk fight was there to be had... and he opted to gamble on squeezing in the Ngannou fight. Lo and behold, the Usyk fight can't happen when it was supposed to.

This article is a classic example of the vapid, junk food media which gets served to boxing fans, masquerading as journalism.

First off, "when" is a rather large assumption. As far as I can tell, no one's heard from Fury since he got back from Saudi Arabia. Admittedly I'm not on social media so it's possible he's written/recorded some semi-literate nonsense there.

As for this vague "February" getting regurgitated in boxing media. The source seems to be Fury's UK promoter Warren. What other justification does a supposed journalist have for assuming a Fury - Usyk fight will take place in February?

I see you in every Fury related threads I visit writing 3000 letters comments lol ... But Fury is an overrated champion so what is the point? Funny ...

How Iron Mike seperated himself as an ATG from Buster Douglas, Williams and McBride and lost most of his big fights?

You will tell me Mike was not in his prime anymore(and you will be right) but how do you know Fury still is? Fury has his demons and down moments like Mike, I believe Fury's body is old.

I'm'sure you will find more excuses to Mike than Fury and we both know why

How do we know Botha is better than N'gannou? Botha was straight garbage and I believe N'gannou would beat him.

You conveniently call N'gannou an unproven boxer but he's a proven kickboxer and a proven MMA KO artist, he has been training boxing for years in Maywheather's gym and in Paris,.he's not some NFL dude trying boxing. He know how to box and perform.

Def not the new Joe Louis but I believe he's better than journeymen like Botha.

BOtha is worst than Dell Boy.
