Comments Thread For: O'Shaquie Foster: Definitely Surprised Rocky Came Around, But He Took The Fight; Glad We're Here

By Jake Donovan - O'Shaquie Foster has been avoided by enough of his divisional peers to where he occasionally has to do a double take when one actually accepts a fight offer. The matchup lined up for this weekend was ordered by the WBC, whose junior lightweight title he claimed earlier this year. Mandatory challenger Eduardo 'Rocky' Hernandez and his team eventually came around and agreed to proceed with the Mexican's first title challenge.

I will give Foster credit for traveling. I think he gets buddy roughed, but win, and he gets Road Warrior after his name in capital letters.

Foster may be glad that Hernandez took the fight now, but once he feels Hernandez's power he'll be even more surprised.

Your options in life are limited when you have a name like “O’Shaquie”

I see Rocky being more difficult than Vargas was based on the styles of the two. If Foster wins, that would be quite impressive since Rocky brings it nonstop.

Or not. Neither a Jimmy or a Richard as in you or me has landed in the top 1% in the world at what we do for a living, yet an O'Shaquie has.

Tough fight for both of em, rocky wont be waiting trying to box live Vargas did, but has no experience against a fast slick fighter like Foster, got Foster by decision but in a rough fight

Looks like he made the most of it. His earning power sure wasn't impacted.

It always trips me out when people overly praise a boxers career. Truth be told, a guy working a 40hr a week (non-physical) job making 100-120k per year with health/dental insurance, a retirement plan, and a 401k live a much more comfortable life than A LOT of former world champs.

Robert Garcia I believe has had over 20 World Champs and only like 2 or 3 dont need to work.

That doesn't change the fact that a guy with the name O'Shaquie still did what 99.9% of all boxers will never do. If a fighter with the name O'Shaquie can reach the height of a world champion, his name did not hold him back which is what I was responding to in the original post. Apparently "O'Shaquie's" options were not limited due to his name. Read the context with which I responded to.
