Brian it was a criminal act, not an honest mistake, and you're very lucky that they cut you a break.
Otherwise you would've been spending some months in prison, if not some years.

Money talks and bullspit walks. .. And another thing five weeks in a jail not prison Get real jail is where you go when awaiting trail and Prison is where you are sentenced to serve time. Dont give the fat man a record he did not serve jezzz He was held awaiting trail is all. Guy is not Don King now there is a guy who spent time in prison.

I think intent has something to do with what would constitute a criminal act. That’s where presumed innocence in the court of law comes into play.

He was found guilty, the court just suspended his sentence, and he has to undergo a 6 months probationary period.
It's simple he wasn't supposed to have a gun on his person in another country, whether he has a licence in the states or not.
