I think tonight's fight will rectify that issue. Tszyu may not have gotten a shot at Undisputed, but he'll no longer be a paper champion if he beats Mendoza.

The main responsibility of a champion is to fight top contenders, which Jermell abdicated because he wanted a big $$$ fight. There are four sanctioning body titles, so not every title fight is between champion/contender or former champions. Tonight's title fight is between two top contenders, as I don't perceive Tszyu's title to be legitimate. Titles are won in the ring. This fight doesn't put Tszyu/Mendoza above Jermell or make them the division's #1, but it would show that Jermell needs to take them seriously.
