Comments Thread For: Froch: Tommy Fury Should Have Way More Than Enough To Beat KSI

Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch does not view this weekend's big crossover fight as a pro boxing matchup. Light heavyweight prospect Tommy Fury, who is the younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, will return to the ring against social media star KSI.

Cool, except he really doesn’t have anyone else to fight for that kind of money that aren’t part of the Paul brothers circus. Plus he’s been in rehab twice since being on that show.

Tommy Fury can't believe his luck.

The last fight against Paul was a foregone conclusion about 20 seconds in when Paul feinted and Fury didnt move a muscle because he knew Paul was well out of range. Happened the whole fight even then Tommy still managed impossibly to get knocked down by a jab. But Tommy is still, fundamentally, able to box.

I dunno if Tommy is that good (to be fair to him he's a novice himself) but I doubt Paul could win an area title in England.

I think about what Tommy Fury would get fighting for an area title but it would be a dangerous fight for him and he would be getting absolute buttons for it.

Without the youtubers would a promotor even put Tommy Fury in a fight for an area title?

He has to be stopping KSI really otherwise it is hard to see why he would risk a boxing career earning buttons in much more dangerous fights.

Maybe this is where he is at already. Easier ways for him to make dough.

Probably a bit of a comment on the state of the game really.

I'm trying to think of a fight I'm looking forward to.

Maybe Azeez vs Buatsi. Even with that if I missed it I'd not be too sad about it.

Buatsi is a case in point. His career has no momentum at all which a for a standout British Olympian is actually hard to achieve.

This is the first acid test of his career. I dunno If that is acceptable.

With the youtubers I suppose they are master marketers and at least create a narrative.

Just embarassing to see a sport where guys have lost their lives and had their lives changed is being used as a joke for youtubers to mess around and promote fake beefs and steal money. Boxing is in a very sad state
