Comments Thread For: Malignaggi: Benn Shouldn't Be in The Ring Until This Whole Thing is Over

Former two division world champion Paulie Malignaggi does not believe Conor Benn should fight until his drug testing scandal has been fully resolved. The unbeaten welterweight is scheduled to see action on Saturday night as part of a Matchroom card in Orlando, Florida.

It is as simple as that. If fans really care when Benn fights Eubank jr boycott the fight. If sponsors really care don't sponsor it and if the networks really care don't broadcast the fight and if these so called boxing pundits such as ex fighters such as Froch, Oliver, Nelson etc refuse to work the fight. The bottom line is they dont really care they just give lip service because at the end of the day money talks and bull**** walks. So just stop all the testing because it's really a joke.

Paulie - hits - nail - on - head ................ he knows exactly whats up - the majority of top fighters are doping - so it's just a case of who can dope the best. Doping makes fighters stronger, more resilient and more explosive - which makes the sport more attractive to most fans. More attractive = more money for everyone. No need to fix something (the money machine) that's not broken.

Read Algieri was supposed to be on the DAZN broadcast for Benn but was pulled with pay. Matchroom doesn't want any mention of PEDs whatsoever.

Paulie is correct and I'm not making excuses for Benn either. My son is ready to turn over to pro and is absolutely against drugging , as are his pro . stablemates . The thing is at a higher level , when you need that extra push and know that others are at it , I suppose the temptation has got to be there and because they are so readily available and the knowledge
of how to use and not get caught in cycles of use are common knowledge , it's difficult. I am completely opposed as I know the dangers already with the mare nature of the sport and watching our fighters and my son close up in fights and sparring still find it repulsive that anyone takes drugs to gain an unfair advantage to the most dangerous of sports out there. The answer is not to let everyone take what drugs they want , it's to impose big bans on fighters like Benn who will not even try to explain why he failed TWO drugs tests and come down hard on promoters like Eddie Hearn who couldn't give a **** about fighters health as long as he makes his money.Benn should NOT be fighting this weekend !

Ok well, thanks for whatever that was.....

Back to the subject at hand, Conner Ben is just another Matchroom plug-horse, a cheat, and just further proof that Eddie Hearn doesn't give a shyt about fighters or their health.
