"IBF Rule 9.C states that any decision to abandon talks will result in a rankings demotion and the inability to enter any IBF-sanctioned fight for at least six months."

In these times of decreased fighter activity thstvshoulf be extended to at least 12 months imo

Wasn't Eddie making a song and a dance about fighters and teams wasting people's time by pulling out of purse bids the day before they're due...

        Yeah.

Let’s see if the IBF at least drop Zelfa Barrett in the rankings and also Jose Ramirez or Barboza for not going through with their ordered fight. Gotta keep an eye on the sanctioning orgs to see if they stick to their rules or just let promoters do what they want. Since they figure no one is watching them closely.

The reality is they do whatever they want and just make up a rule or exemption to suit.

True. But if fans watch and vociferously call them out on it on social media then it will make it harder for them.

Think Barrett is fighting Cacace or Carroll on the Cameron-Taylor II undercard.

Doesn't seem to have really worked that way much though, does it?

We just need to keep trying and keep shining the light on them.
