Comments Thread For: Canelo Alvarez: I Still Feel Young, Fresh; I Never Think About The End Of My Career

The 18th anniversary of Canelo Alvarez's pro debut will come a little less than a month after his fight with Jermell Charlo. Alvarez was only 15 years old when he fought for the first time as a professional. The Mexican legend weighed in at 139 pounds, one below the junior welterweight limit, for that fourth-round technical knockout of Abraham Gonzalez in October 2005 at Arena Chololo Larios in Tonala, near his hometown of Guadalajara.

Ryder was practically ready to fall over several times, but Canelo couldn't take him out. He couldn't step on the gas. Maybe he didn't take training seriously for that fight.

You can fight 2-3 more years but you should definitely think about potential CTE.

I don't think Canelo will have ever CTE cause landing on him clearly is difficult. But, some hard sparrings and too long boxing journey can affect him if he fights 5 years more. You have tons of money, companies, investments and good family.

Most of ATGs and HoFs are like retarded because of CTE. 2025 or 2026 should be your last year. Saying it as a Canelo fan.

sounds like pacquaio during his last final run... "i feel young, i feel strong"... "we are going back to training like how i used too when i was young".... let's face it, canelo is on the decline. it's normal.

“I have a new batch of drugs, reynoso has been testing them with the lesser known fighters, so if they fail testing I can avoid another disgraceful moment in my career”

im still of the mind that all them failures in that camp was them testing things out before he took them. Can’t have another taco meat fiasco can he?

The visual proof says otherwise. Canelo is clearly on the decline and his limitations are no longer masked, even against lower level opponents the way they used to be.

Literally on roids. After the first time they got busted and he was FORCED into the clean boxing program he had to start being a lot more careful.
