NEITHER - Floyd is undoubtedly one of the greatest fighters of all time and beat a 23yo green Canelo whereas Bivol was an undefeated champion in a higher weight class (and several above where Canelo began his career at welterweight). Therefore, there's NO shame in losing to either.

Mayweather was outside of his peak, and still beat Alvarez 12 - 0 to 11 - 1.

The Floyd Mayweather Junior who faced Oscar De La Hoya, would of most likely forced a stoppage vs Alvarez at 154 pounds.

I think both the versions of Mayweather & De La Hoya would of beaten Alvarez at 147 to 154 pounds.

Stylistically De La Hoya is a very difficult fight for Alvarez.

Note: I still personally believe that Alvarez can beat Bivol at 175 pounds in a rematch 'Alvarez does have area's of his game where he is superior to Bivol, such as his inside game and defense on attack'. Alvarez somehow has to devise a game plan and the execute tactics which force those attributes upon Bivol for sustained periods of time 'To achieve this Alvarez will have to maximize his endurance and improve his movement, which are two of his worst attributes'.

But regardless I still give Alvarez a chance of finding a way to improve in those area's, and to fight a better fight etc.

Floyd was too much , too soon and Bivol was too big, too skilled.
I'd say the loss to Bivol was worse because Floyd was expected to win and Bivol was expected to lose.
But credit to Saul for taking both fights.

Are you at all aware floyd drained nelo? The floyd loss wasn't bad as Nell was green, drained and expected to lose. But it's not such a bad loss as prime Nell would be expected to beat any version of floyd, Nelo just had wrong gameplan and fought wrong fight.

But that floyd wouldn't dare rematch Nelo makes it not too bad a loss. But Nelo did lose badly to bivol because bivol had height and reach advantage, and Nell made mistake of no CW of 172lbs. Just like floyd would lose badly to someone with such physical advantages, when would floyd fight someone 4 inches taller?

it's easy to vote 'still to come'. If Canelo keeps fighting when he's older than 35, he'll be a shell of his former self and more likely to lose. But out of the 2, it's obviously Bivol. Against Floyd, Canelo was a bit weight drained and only 22 years old.

How he lost also plays a role. Floyd potshotted him and used experience to nullify Canelo's offense. Bivol beat the living breaks off Canelo for 12 rounds.

bivol... against floyd. you can use the excuse that nelo was still young and inexperience.... the bivol loss, you cant really look for any excuses aside from the weight.

I voted Floyd. Now that I think about it- even.

IMO he lost 12-0 to both.

If he should lose to Charlo, Benevidez, or even Bivol at 168, that would be worse.
