  • Comments Thread For: Crawford's Canelo Talk Prompts Big "Money" Comparison

It used to be a slam dunk. Whether it came when he was still an active fighter or in the immediate aftermath of his post-Andre Berto retirement in 2015, Floyd Mayweather Jr. was a guaranteed winner.

“I really think at 135, 140, Mayweather wins handily, 8-4-ish,” he told Boxing Scene. “I think Mayweather was more polished and better than Crawford when they were both young professionals. Better defense, more ring generalship, just better. However, I think Crawford continued to get better as a pro and is completely on Mayweather’s level at 147. I might give him the edge, but maybe not. Really 50-50.”

    That was 100% on point!

At 147 not only do I give a much bigger Vernon Forrest the edge but also another fighter Floyd stayed away from in Paul Williams but we’ll never know!

          Man, stop.with Paul Williams.
You don't get outboxed by Quintana,
then expect to not get outboxed by Floyd.

True but not true. Williams was just inexplicably off that night. We saw the real think in the rematch, a la RJJ vs..Griffin. Paul would've definitely been up for a Floyd fight, and presented major length and workrate problems for Floyd. I still think Floyd wins but it would've been interesting. Also Forest, guy was hot and cold. Had some great wins but lost to Mora and couldn't handle Mayorga. But May could handle anything thrown at him.

I'm 100% certain I was the first to say Crawford beats the 147 lb mayweather but loses to the 135lb mayweather on this site right after the Spence fight. Now everyone has the same Damn take as me because Mosley said it. I want my cookie.

Only one that beat him in real life was Castillo.

Stop man, he clearly beat Castillo in a close fight that could have NOT gone either way. It's the same old song with you people.

That's the only fight that Mayweather could have lost. I've viewed this fight a few times. And I've scored it differently every time. I've scored it for Mayweather, I've scored it for Castillo, I've called it a draw. The outcome of this fight could've gone either way.

Mayweather did win their rematch, hands down..... although he fought it very cautiously.
