Comments Thread For: Mikaela Mayer: I'm Ready For Natasha Jonas, I've Prepared My Body For That Fight

On Saturday night in Manchester, former super featherweight world champion Mikaela Mayer returned to the ring and secured a lopsided ten round decision victory in her first fight at 140-pounds with a rugged opponent in Silvia Bortot, who was happy to trade blows in the center of the ring from the first bell where others may have attempted to reduce their exposure to punches to sc**** their way to the final bell.

Mikaela is very overrated. If you look closely at her record, she has only faced 2 fighters that have been ranked in the top 10 of her division. She lost to Baumgardner who cheated. and struggled with Farias big

At 5’9 she was fighting at 130 because her handlers wanted to give her a big advantage because they knew she wasn’t that good. She cuts weight a lot.

Now she wants to fight welterweight where she should have been long time ago if her handlers thought she could compete. Her opponents tell you just how much she has been carefully matched. Massively overrated fighter who will get crushed at 147 which she has carefully avoided because her coach Al Mitchell knew she would be in over her head. That’s why they kept her at 130 when she walks around between 155-160. Given that clever matchmaking, she hasn’t accomplished sheet.

Jonas is better than Mayer's camp realize and she'll be the stronger fighter. That said, Jonas better work on her cardio because she may not get the nod in close rounds. She will have to start and finish strong every round.
