  • Comments Thread For: Eubank Jr: When I Beat Up [Smith] In the Rematch, You're Not Even Going To See Me Smile

By Jake Donovan - Chris Eubank Jr. is sticking to his guns that Liam Smith was just the luckier man during their first meeting. The second-generation boxer has vowed to prove the second time around that he is, in fact, the better man. He is so convinced, that not even the thrill of victory will prompt any kind of in-ring reaction.

Beating super welterweight and old Liam Smith only proves Jr's status as a middle weight/ super middle weight , a no where man built on his fathers name.

well yeah, his name got him openings he wouldn't have got otherwise but he does have some good skills and good wins

      who you got in this?

imo could go either way. Eubank def has room to improve , not sure Smith does. We've seen rematched losers get revenge - Woods vs Lara etc.

Smith should win, eubank only really had workrate toughness and a chin and the chin has been cracked, tbh without his chin I think he would be seriously low level not even domestic

I think eubanks can pull it off, but must acknowledge Liams pedigree. Eubanks couldn't best groves, or bjs and liam.might be better than either of the guys eubanks lost to. Eubanks mightve won rematch with bjs and groves too, but no proof.
So it's hard to make a case for eubanks other than leap of faith. Well I've faith I'll go with eubank.

Jr's chin was cracked, so he's gonna be gun-shy and try to box, but he ain't a skilled boxer. so Smith should beat Jr again. Even if Jr somehow beats Liam, its not like a big thing anyway.

Jr was very lucky bc of his daddy's name. His boxing skills, ring IQ and talent are poor.

i think eubank could do it, hes not making excuses left right and centre like other guys do, he actually talks sense, he could make a deal of his weight cut for benn, that elbow that opened his cut and dazed him etc, which i think are all valid and thats why i think he could do better this matchup

Anyone who is talking like eubank was winning up until the knock down is lying thru their teeth. I watched the entire fight, and eubank did not look comfortable taking ANY of Liam’s punches. Jr. Is about to find out that riding your daddy’s coattails can only take a scrub like him so far.

do believe a fight is going to break out at some point and early in the bout then Jr. will come away with a win and that way a third fight will be in the making along with making and milking a little more money out of these two fighters. Let there be a fight is all i would hope for some cuts maybe, a controversy in the ring a close 10 second rise off the canvase but lets not be polite in the ring today.
