Comments Thread For: Jermell Charlo: "It Ain't About How Many Times You Fall, It's About The Comeback"

Floyd Mayweather changed the game. And, depending on who you asked, it wasn't always for the better. Before the former five-division champ would go on to have an undefeated career through 50 pro bouts, there was nothing wrong with losing a fight. All of the greats lost at some point. Mike Tyson lost his first fight to James "Buster" Douglas in 1990. Muhammad Ali came up short for the first time in his career at the hands of Joe Frazier in 1971. Ray Robinson also came up short in 1951 when he took on Randolph Turpin.

Canelo is going to pressure him, wait for Charlo to react and throw punches then counter his ass with ferocious punches. Most likely it will be a KO.

You, your brother, Spence and the whole PBC, and Mayweather Promotions crew looks better gone.

Boxing will be able to rejuvenate its self in time, when you are in the 'rear view mirror.'

Not a long history of wins for fighters who go up 2 divisions at once.
Especially against someone as talented as Alvarez. I see a Canelo KO on the horizon.

Canelo will break your a$$ so bad that you won't be able to stand up from that fall.

It's a long list of great fights we would not have got if they didn't put them on, I don't understand the promoter fan/hate club idea at all.

Charlo is right, Floyd stopped taking chances and he was successful at shutting out a hand full commentators...that was the recipe. Today, the internet questions everything, right or wrong, it's harder to sell chicken shyt by simply calling it chicken soup. Today the formula works to a point, but when it develops a pattern and the internet picks up on it and you become just another Tyson Fury. Don't get me wrong, not all media will be honest, the ass kissers always trade love notes for access but even they will eventually have their Elie Seckbach moment.

That said, I hope I'm wrong but I still think Canelo picked Charlo for a reason. If Charlo starts absorbing too much, I hope he takes a knee and and walks away with a fat payday and no damage.

Have you ever watched a Canelo or Charlo fight?..... You think Charlo is going to beat Canelo by counter punching while Canelo starts pressuring him?.....lol.

These PBC bred fighters are simply looking to get paid, not build a legacy. Charlo is happy to be in this situation. He let us know that winning was not the priority back in the first press conference when he said that after the fight, he's coming back down to 154lbs to fight Crawford or Tim... Why would an undisputed champ drop 2 divisions to fight someone moving up from smaller division.

That's like winning an NBA Finals MVP and then spending the rest of the summer trying to get into the McDonald's All Star Game.
