Comments Thread For: Dubois: I Should Be World Champion, They Just Cheated Out There!

Heavyweight contender Daniel Dubois wants "justice" after his knockout loss to unified world champion Oleksandr Usyk. On Saturday night in Poland, Usyk knocked out Dubois in the ninth round to retain his IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO world titles.

I think the problem here is that he landed one punch...if it was in fact legal. Very few have sympathy for the simple fact that he didnt win a round....and then took the knee stoppage. If he was able to say he fought his heart out...and took it to his shield...people might listen a little harder. Fact is...nobody believes he should have won that fight except for one lucky controversial punch.

If it was a clean punch, that's one thing but when it's "border-line" you leave it at the discretion of the referee. Doesn't really matter because Dumbo Dubois didn't "go for gold" after Usyk was given time. The ref let DDD off the hook with several other low blows in the fight.

Ill give Triple Knee credit for one thing. He had the balls to go 9 rounds with Usyk. Unlike someone else we could mention, who has avoided Usyk, and thinks it's cooler to go 32 rounds with Chisora.

Dubois' overall performance was subpar. But the body shot was a legit shot. I will say it again, he was robbed in that round. Just my observation.

That body shot was legit. But Dubois instead of getting pissed at the trash call, he just got sad, discouraged and gave up. Now, he's crying for justice. He should have kept going to Usky's body. AJ bothered him to the body in their rematch, but it was too little, too late. That's Oleksandr's kryptonite. Where's your heart, kid?

I think Dubois and his fans have a right to be angry.

I thought the shot was good. Look where the belt is. I am not an anatomy expert, but I don’t know anyone whose nuts are right under their belly button.

I thought Usyk was going to dominate. Picked him to win because I believe he is in the discussion for top p4p boxer in the world.

He clearly was the more skilled boxer. I was very surprised Dubois found an attack point to make it a good fight.

Dubois also seemed to give up at the end. Thought he could’ve made the count earlier.

Pabon imo was bad. He’s usually a very strong referee.
