Comments Thread For: Oscar Valdez: I Want To Show Losing Undefeated Record Doesn't Mean The End Of Your Career

By Jake Donovan - Oscar Valdez is ready to conquer what he views as a wide open junior lightweight division. The need for a new king emerged when Shakur Stevenson outgrew 130 and left the WBC and WBO titles at the scales ahead of his win over Robson Conceicao last fall. His reign lasted barely eleven months, which include a decisive win over Valdez in their unification bout last April 30 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

should be an interesting fight plus an interesting card (ESPN) add to that some fights on Showtime same weekend and yea why not fights that matter fights that could lead to other fights names every one has heard of........pre fight talk is just talk usually nothing interesting to say four days out, just time to stay healthy a few more days and step into the ring. Been a decent Summer so far in two weeks got some big boys getting in the ring sure better then it was in past few Summers let um rip. Will boxing slow down when the Football season starts ? Probably intentional or not Essy is not about fights too much once the college games start up, Show will fade also so while summer is here.............

A mediocre, arrogant person who relies on PED's and fighting at home for protection.

look at whyte and chisora they always getting big money fights after they lost. its more of a myth that if you lose you don't get opportunities.

Are you referring to Floyd Mayweather?

I think Valdez is gonna knock Navarette out. His punches are straighter, more precise, and his defense is better. Navarette comes from odd angles and judging the distance is going to be tough, I just think he leaves himself too open for counters for a fighter with the skills Oscar has. Should be a fun one.
