Jermell Charlo is already talking about a big game against his upcoming counterpart Canelo Alvarez. Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) and Alvarez (59-2-2, 39 KOs) are set to clash on Sept. 30 in Las Vegas on Showtime pay-per-view in a yet-to-be-named venue.

It's getting more interesting. Can Charlo stand up to Canelo? Is Canelo still a top P4P?

I just don't see Charlo standing up to the relentless pressure Canelo will subject him to.

Is he more durable (I think he is a better athlete) than Sweet Cheeks and does he have enough pop going up with his hand speed to keep Canelo slightly at bay? Either Canelo steamrolls him or you might get something similar to the Trout fight, 12 with sneaky drop by Canelo?

If Canelo is still sharp he will overwhelm Charlo. But I could be wrong like many were about Spence--Charlo is a sharp puncher, better than Spence. We will see in Sept.

I agree with almost all of the previous posts/comments. Still, I can't shake the memory of Pac/DLH. I felt at the time that Pac was chosen because he was small. He was forced to jump two weight classes. Oscar was well beyond his best with heavy mileage on the odometer. Canelo has been far more between-fight professional, living a healthier lifestyle, yet, he has no doubt rolled the odometer twice over at this point. Sometimes a great can run for a few years a few quarts low. Throw him in with the wrong type of foe and it can suddenly all come apart in one night.

but his defense sucks, and his trainer don't teach skill.
