Too bad both fights weren't even competitive, still good week for boxing overall I agree.

I hear you about them not being competitive. But, I think that the results are even better, (not for Fulton and Spence fans lol) because the results weren't expected, yet they were definitive and left zero doubts about who the better fighter was and because of the fact that the fights were considered to be evenly matched, the surprising dominance showed greatness in both winners. But, I must admit that I did root for both Bud and Monster, so I'm obviously happy with the outcome of both fights. But I didn't think that Bud and Monster would make it look so easy. Not sure if that is because they are truly special fighters, or if Errol and Fulton were overrated, but that's not fair to anyone, since that would take away from the great performances by Bud and Monster, and both Errol and Fulton were undefeated, and at least half of the fans, the media had Errol and Fulton winning, so these were fights that Bud and Monster would have to work hard to get the victory, yet the fact that they didn't seem to have to break a sweat in order to secure the victory makes it much more exciting and memorable, and it's great for the history of the sport and for the legacies of Bud and Monster.

great win for TC!! fans on here always resort to the same agenda! once a fighter loses, "he's a bum"... spence is a top fighter but TC is just the better fighter. spence is not a bum, etc.

When boxing matches are referred to as “50/50 fights,” quite often it’s at the very least a slight exaggeration. The cruel reality of the sport of boxing is that most fights that take place are as far from a 50/50 proposition as will be allowed by a local commission. As for the ones we see on television, by and large the bout was made by a promoter who both hopes and thinks with sound reasoning that one particular fighter will win. In these cases, “50/50 fight” is thrown around to convey that it is theoretically possible that the B-side will win, a fudging of the reality that the odds for the bout are rightfully in favor of the A-side and very few people are straining to decide who they think will win.

****** opening paragraph. This writer acts as if this truly wasn't a 50/50 fight. It was. Spence was undefeated and had 3 of the world titles. Titles he earned by defeating other world champions. He was in most ways "The Guy" in the division. Crawford was seen as a special fighter but one that was still the underdog in some ways because he only had one belt, had fought less bigger names, and wasn't always the natural welterweight. This was as close to a 50/50 fight than other fight we've seen recently. Inoue and Fulton was also a 50/50 fight but the better man won.

He would have. As he's a tricky fighter, Spence in hindsight with his lack of speed and slower defences was tailor made for Bud to wreck. What is surprising is how Ugas or Garcia before him took no advantage of Spence's flaws, and his vulnerability post car accident (Kell Brook was hitting pre car accident Spence a lot in their fight and he seemed hardly fazed. Although Bud does hit harder than anyone in the division, he seemed affected by every shot).
